A couple of days ago, Microsoft hosted their Xbox Games Showcase event. Showcasing the next generation Xbox games and trying to win a major battle in the console war against Sony’s Playstation. We will make a summary of all Xbox exclusive games showed to us and giving you our opinion.
Halo Infinite gameplay
We already knew about the existence of Halo infinite after its reveal last year on E3. Microsoft showed some gameplay that made up for some mixed feelings among fans. Starting on a positive note, the nostalgic feeling Halo Infinite brings along is favorably received by its fanbase. On the downside, many fans are questioning what happened to the character models for the game. They don’t get the feeling that it is next-gen gameplay and more something out of an original Xbox halo game.
This one could not be missing on the show, everyone expected it and we got it. Forza joins the next-gen party with Forza Motorsport 2021. We currently don’t have much information about the game only that is is in early development. We can guess that Forza will bring forward the beauty of their game with the new ray-tracing technology. Stating on their website: “from surfaces of cars reflecting off each other, to brilliant red paint bouncing off intensely detailed track surfaces, and the interplay of light and shadow throughout the world.”.
State of Decay 3
A new State of Decay was announced as well, with a nice little trailer. Again not much was shown in the trailer but they give us a big hint in the form of a zombie deer eating a wolf. If that is not crazy, we don’t know what is. We are hoping that this next State of Decay will be better than the previous State of Decay 2 with a 4.7 user score on Metacritic.
New Everwild trailer
As we talked about this game in our prediction article and it was no surprise that we got a new trailer for Everwild. Showing of more of its magical nature were you play part in it. We had hoped for some more information but sadly we didn’t get more.
Avowed announcement trailer
This one gets us hyped. Obsidian game studio and a big budget gives us Avowed. Not much is known from this game beside that it will play in a fantasy world were magic and creatures are a part of daily life. The vibe the trailer gave us was an old school Skyrim vibe but next-gen. Something we will keep an eye on!
As Dusk Falls
Ever wanted to play a game with artistic graphics? Then As Dusk Falls is the game for you. As Dusk Falls is an interactive drama that leads you through the lives of two American families in a timespan of 30 years. The choices you make will have a big impact on the story you will experience.
Big surprise here. The original Stalker game being a pc exclusive game, now coming to Xbox in the form of Stalker 2. A combination of an FPS, immersive sim and horror playing in the deserted town of Pripyat that was affected by the Chernobyl radiated explosion. It is confirmed that Stalker 2 will be open world were your choices will influence the ending of the game. Gear up and explore some supernatural environments.
It seems that this rumor also was quite right. Yes, there is a new Fable game in production. The only question we have is: will it be a Fable 4 or a Fable remake? We have no further information about this title.
Warhammer 40.000: Darktide
A nice surprise for Xbox and PC gamers in the form of Warhammer 40K: Darktide. This game will feature a 4 player co-op action game set in the Warhammer universe. Made by the devs of the Warhammer Vermintide game, it seems that this game could be a lot of fun.
Tetris Effect: Connected
It has everything… A vast open world, next-gen graphics, in-depth character customization. Okay maybe not all of those features, but it can be just as much fun. Tetris always has been a part of the game industry and it would be a shame if it would stay behind. This time around with multiplayer, so go grab your friends and test how strong that friendship really is with Tetris Effect: Connected.
This was our selection from the games shown at Xbox Games Showcase. We hope you find this summary useful, and be sure to check their websites for more info!
